Kaohsiung International Steel & Iron Sculpture Festival —“Steel Friends, Steel Fantasy"

每兩年一度的鋼雕藝術節，創辦至今已進入第九屆，以鋼雕現地創作營為主軸，邀請國內外鋼雕藝術家到高雄進行創作，強化環境、藝術家、創作行為與民眾互動的關聯性，焊接的火力、材料的運用、戶外創作的體力與耐力、作品突破性的思考與創意，都讓跟著藝術家一同經歷創作的民眾回味不已。

2018高雄國際鋼雕藝術節以「換帖/幻鐵Steel Friends, Steel Fantasy」命題，解放鋼鐵元素材質，導入石材、木材、陶土等複合媒材的多元可能，以相對柔屬性、有溫度的異材質，軟化鋼鐵的冷冽硬邊，在不同的文化背景下帶入異質語彙。藝術家將師法自然以為此次創作營的精神本質發想，在發展愈臻多元的駁二場域再利用的空間範疇裡，呈現出另類異想的鋼雕作品。

To Kaohsiung, steel and iron are more than building materials, they are the foundation of the entire city whose population is described as iron-willed. Their iron-willedness is the origin of their passion to arts.
Inaugurated in 2002, the Kaohsiung International Steel & Iron Sculpture Festival emphasizes the relation between the industry and the city. However cold and hard, these industrial materials could be given new significance through art forms.
KISISF takes place every two years, 2018 was the 9 th Festival. KISISF invites local and foreign sculptors to work on-site so they will pay attention to their role in the environment, including their creation and interactions with the public. Being able to participate with the work of the artists, the public is always amazed by the fire of wielding, the application of materials, the unexpected art expression, as well as the stamina and patience of artists who work in the workshop and present their projects outdoors.
